"Crying Moon"
This is an art challenge for March from the online course I am taking by Chris Brandley Art.
She has a cup of dice with different words on them. She rolls 5 out and we can choose a few or all and compose and paint using the words you chose.
I love this challenge - the words I chose, 4 out of 5, were: city scape; blue; sorrow; zooming out.
My idea was to paint a blue city scape and I used the moon (crying) to emote, "sorrow."
In case some don't get it, I painted a scene of a war-torn city with the moon overhead in a very sad state.
This is a 10 x 10 acrylic on studio canvas.
I'm getting feedback letting me know what people are "feeling" when they see it. The moon tells a story in itself. That's what art is all about - to make you "feel something" as does music.
I feel I "did my job" and reached some viewers.
This month's lesson is next...I did the challenge first because the frilly flower looks difficult to me!
Now I have the rest of the month to get it done. :)
